Recovering From Surgery

Hello Everyone,

It’s been a while since I posted something that wasn’t about a diy or tutorial. Well, I have some recovery time here that will hinder my creating for a while. So I guess I will keep you all updated on what’s going on with me outside of creating.

I wanna say for the last 9 months off and on I have been dealing with some severe abdominal pain. Over the last two months, I have been dealing with some serious pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Long story short over time it got really bad and on Friday May 15, 2020 I had Colectomy Surgery due to a mass found in my colon. I spent 8 days in the hospital which was a nightmare being away from my family for so many days. You know they say there is no worse pain you will ever go through than childbirth. Well, I have had 7 children vaginally and I would rather have 2 more babies than deal with this pain I am dealing with right now.

Anyway, prior to 2:41 pm today May 26, 2020 we were still waiting on pathology results. Actually, my surgeon called as I started typing this. I do have the results and I actually am not going to post them right now because we haven’t talked to the children about them just yet. Not to mention I have 4 doctors appointments coming up and I want to assess what each one has to say. None of this is easy and I don’t even know if this makes sense as I’m typing it. I just wanted all of you to know how things were going and where I have been.

DIY Gift Wrapping Ideas!

Hello Everyone,

I’m not sure if you know, but I love wrapping presents. I don’t know why I just do. But most of all I love finding cute and creative ways to make those wrapped presents stand out from the rest. It’s easy to just buy rolls of wrapping paper from the store and have all the presents under the tree look the same. But, I love having the kids look under the tree and see cute DIY wrapping paper under the tree. There are so many different ideas to come up with. For today, I just chose these wrapping ideas/hacks for the presents. Let me know which one is your favorite and if you have any cool gift wrapping ideas to share.

My Birthday!

Today I sit back and reflect on all the things I have gone through, been through and still going through in life. It’s been one wild journey I can tell you that. But I am so grateful for this life. Everything tragedy, every once of sadness, happiness, loss and gain is leading me to where I am supposed to be.

Life is a precious thing. So much can be lost and so much can be gained in a matter of moments. All I can say is that I cherish each everything and embrace like a champ. So as I celebrate another year of life that almost wasn’t twice over. I give all thanks to God for waking me up and leading me to my purpose.

How To Make Leather HairBows With Silhouette Cameo

For the longest time, I have been cutting all my leather hair bows by hand. I knew it was a way or should be a way to cut them with my Silhouette Cameo. And what do you know, there is. Now, I’m going to share with you how I did so.

Resize to fit your needs.

The first step is by finding a template or pattern. I just did a Google search to find a template and used the trace feature in my Silhouette to resize my bow template. If you don’t know how to use the trace feature I have a post showing you how to do so. How to use trace feature in Silhouette Cameo!

Above you will see the proper setting to cut leather fabric with Silhouette. For the material setting I chose the Leatherette setting, the blade setting is 10, speed is set to 3, force is 33 and passes I chose 2. I also used the fabric blade also set that to 10. Once that is all set then go ahead and cut. Once you have it cut go ahead and put it together like you normally would.

How To Trace Using Silhouette Cameo

This is something I use all the time when looking to create something very specific with my silhouette. All I do is Google an image or import an image of my own. I import it into my Silhouette program and utilize the trace feature. Watch the video below to learn how to use this feature for yourself.

Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas!

Hello Everyone,

This year I am super behind getting my mother a gift for Mother’s Day. I usually have a plan in mind but, it’s becoming hard to get her something that I haven’t gotten her already. See, I am the type of person that loves to give not only personalized gifts. But also gifts that I haven’t purchased for her already. My mother is very gracious and will appreciate anything I get for her. With that being said I picked up a few items from Target that I know she will love. I’ve also thrown in a set of bracelets and a journal to jot down her thoughts. Below, I share with you the items I purchased in this weeks video for her.

Share with me in the comments some things you purchased for your mom.
