What you need:

First, you will connect the 2 ends of the elastic headband.

Then you will begin placing the faux flowers around the headband using the hot glue gun. You can place the flowers all the way around or do as I did and place them on just the front part of the headband.

At this point once you get all the flowers on place any embellishments on the headband and you’re done.

These headbands can be made in many different ways and with different types of flowers and or embellishments. As always if you have any questions or comments please let me know in the comments.

DIY Thing 1, Thing 2 Headband!

What You Need

In the first step, you will start by tying a piece of tulle around the headband. Then you will tie another not in that same tulle. I dabbed a small amount of hot glue just under the tulle then slid it down on top of the hot glue to hold it in place. This will keep the rest of the tulle from pushing that first piece down and holding the other pieces in place as you go.

You will continue tying the tulle around the headband all the way around the headband until the last piece is even with the other side of the headband. Make sure to add a small dab of hot glue to the last piece of tulle just like we did on the first one. The video posted within this post will give you a better idea of what I am telling you.

Once you have gotten all the tulle added to your headband, you will make a small bow to add to the “Thing” hair for your finishing touches.

Your headband should look similar to this one. Don’t worry if some of the tulles are uneven you can always cut them to your liking. Also, remember these projects are handmade and little imperfections are what make it more unique.

Yarn Pom Pom Spiders & Tassel Ghost Tutorial

Hello Everyone,

I am so far behind on putting up Halloween decorations. Life has gotten in the way of me doing all my diy’s. However, today I was in the mood to gather myself together and make some cute little yarn pom-pom spiders and tassel ghosts. Not only was this a stress reliever for me I know my kids will have fun making them too. Below is a step by step tutorial and video on how I made this cute little Halloween garland.

~Nika xoxo

I started by making a template out of some cardboard and my circle template. Make 2 circles you will see why in the video. Afterwards, I made a smaller circle on the inside of the bigger circles. Cut that out and made a slit at the top of each circle so that I could wrap the yarn as shown above. After wrapping around the yarn twice for a more poofy pom-pom I slid my scissors in between the 2 cardboard pieces and cut. Before pulling the yarn off I took another piece of string, slid it in between the two circles and tie a knot. Once that is tied you may then pull the 2 circles away from the yarn. The video below shows how to complete the pom-pom spiders by trimming and placing the googly eyes and legs on.

For the tassels, I wrapped the yarn around a piece of cardboard until I achieved the look I was going for. Then I cut the end of one side of the yarn and slowly slid the yarn away from the cardboard. Once I had it off I tied a piece of string around the top, tied a knot so that it looks like the head of a ghost. Once that was complete I drew eyes and a nose with a sharpie.

DIY Halloween Lollipop Spiders | Mummy Crafts!

Hello Everyone,

I always love getting into the fall season when I get to create tons of crafts. It’s just something about the cool weather that makes me want to create. It is slightly early to be thinking about Halloween but, I just can’t help myself. Below is a video showcasing just 2 simple ideas that I had to decorate lollipops. These tutorials are fun for adults and kids alike. I hope you like them too. Also, I provide step by step instructions on how to assemble the crafts.

~Nika xoxo

For the mummy. I use a toilet paper roll. I start off by placing a bottom on the roll to make sure whatever we put inside doesn’t fall out.
Next, we take scraps of fabric or streamer and begin wrapping it around the roll to give the appearance of a mummy being wrapped. It Doesn’t have to be perfect and I actually like the frayed scruffy look of the mummy.
Finally, we place the googly eyes on with the glue gun to secure the eyes on the fabric. Make sure to leave the top part open to place the treats inside. After you can close it off or leave it open. These would be great for a party, handing out to trick or treaters or simply decorations around the house.

You can check out how to make the spider legs for the lollipops in the video below.

How To Make Leather HairBows With Silhouette Cameo

For the longest time, I have been cutting all my leather hair bows by hand. I knew it was a way or should be a way to cut them with my Silhouette Cameo. And what do you know, there is. Now, I’m going to share with you how I did so.

Resize to fit your needs.

The first step is by finding a template or pattern. I just did a Google search to find a template and used the trace feature in my Silhouette to resize my bow template. If you don’t know how to use the trace feature I have a post showing you how to do so. How to use trace feature in Silhouette Cameo!

Above you will see the proper setting to cut leather fabric with Silhouette. For the material setting I chose the Leatherette setting, the blade setting is 10, speed is set to 3, force is 33 and passes I chose 2. I also used the fabric blade also set that to 10. Once that is all set then go ahead and cut. Once you have it cut go ahead and put it together like you normally would.
